We use AI for tasks such as language translation for our Swedish-to-German coverage, automated metadata for search optimisation, and transcription of interviews. All outputs are checked, edited and approved by a named writer and an editor before publication. Who ensures editorial oversight of AI-assisted content?
Matthias Ziegler, Chefredaktör, bears ultimate responsibility for editorial standards and publication decisions at Sacharchiv. Julia Weber, Redaktionschef, oversees daily newsroom operations including headline review and commissioning. No AI-produced material is published without explicit human sign-off.
The entire editorial team – including Christian Schwarz (Politikredaktör), Christina Kaiser (Wirtschaftreporter), Oliver Winkler (Kultur- och samhällsredaktör) and Anna Martin (Ansvarig för faktagranskning) – reviews content within their domains. Our fact-checking process, detailed in our Fact-Checking Policy, applies equally to AI-assisted work. Human judgement is non-negotiable, and every piece is approved by a human editor before it reaches readers.
What are the strict prohibitions on AI use?
AI must never fabricate quotes, sources, interviews, bylines, author experience or expert profiles. Automated tools cannot generate content that appears to be from a named writer without that writer’s direct involvement. All published editorial content is reviewed by a human editor.
We forbid the use of AI to replace original reporting or to create misleading impressions. Sponsored or commercial material, as outlined in our Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure, must also comply with these rules. Our Editorial Policy reinforces that commercial relationships never determine editorial conclusions.
