What accessibility standards do we follow?

How do we support keyboard navigation and focus?
Every interactive element on sacharchiv.de is operable using only a keyboard, with clear visible focus indicators that meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA contrast requirements. You can navigate through headlines, links, forms and media controls using Tab, Shift+Tab, arrow keys and Enter.
We have designed the site so that focus order follows a logical reading sequence — left to right, top to bottom — and that no keyboard trap occurs. What about contrast and reduced motion?

Our design system uses a limited palette of high‑contrast colours, and we avoid relying solely on colour to convey information. Where we use moving content (such as video embeds or scroll‑triggered animations), we respect the user’s system‑level “reduce motion” setting by disabling non‑essential motion. We check contrast with tools like the Colour Contrast Analyser and adjust any failing combinations during development.

Our editorial policy requires that all images contain meaningful alt text, that video content includes captions or transcripts, and that linked text is descriptive (not “click here”). What are the known limitations of our current accessibility?
