At Sacharchiv, we are committed to trustworthy journalism and take all complaints seriously. If you believe we have published inaccurate, misleading or otherwise problematic content, we want to hear from you. This page explains how to submit a complaint, how we handle it, and how to escalate if you remain unsatisfied.
How do I submit a complaint?
Send your complaint by email to complaints@sacharchiv.de. Please include your name, the article or piece in question, the specific issue you are raising, and any supporting evidence. You may also submit a complaint via our general contact form at /about-us/contact/ marked “Complaint”.
We aim to acknowledge receipt within two working days. For complex complaints we may ask for further clarification, but we will keep you informed throughout the process.
What happens after I submit a complaint?
Your complaint is logged and assigned to the relevant department. For editorial accuracy complaints, our fact-checking editor Anna Martin (emma.sandberg@sacharchiv.de) conducts an initial review. For other matters, the responsible section editor handles the case.
We investigate the issue thoroughly, consulting original sources, interview recordings or internal notes as needed. If the complaint is upheld, we will correct the record and inform you of the action taken. A summary may be published on our corrections page. If we find no error, we will explain our reasoning in writing. Our target is to resolve straightforward complaints within ten working days and more complex ones within four weeks.
What you can expect from us
We treat every complaint fairly, impartially and without delay. You will receive a personal response from a named editor. We do not outsource complaints handling or use automated replies for substantive issues. All decisions are reviewed by a senior editor to ensure consistency with our editorial standards as set out in the editorial policy.
We maintain a log of complaints and the actions taken, which is regularly audited by the editorial leadership. This process is independent of any commercial or political influence.
How do I escalate if I am not satisfied?
If you believe your complaint was not handled properly, you may escalate it to our editor-in-chief, Matthias Ziegler (chefredaktör). Write to anders.lindqvist@sacharchiv.de (Matthias’s editorial email) or call +46 8 525 030 61. Please reference your original complaint and explain why you consider the response inadequate.
Matthias will personally review the case, reassess the evidence, and issue a final decision. This is the last stage of our internal complaints procedure. We aim to respond within ten working days.
Where can I find our policies?
Our full policies are published on the site. For details on how we correct errors, see the corrections policy. For transparency about our funding and ownership, read /ownership-funding/. Our privacy practices are explained in the privacy policy. For editorial standards, see the editorial policy.
