Sacharchiv (sacharchiv.de) is committed to transparency about how we fund our journalism. This page explains our revenue sources, including advertising and affiliate links, and details how we safeguard editorial independence. We believe that understanding our funding model helps readers trust our work. For a full overview of ownership and funding, see our Ownership and Funding page.
How is Sacharchiv funded?
Sacharchiv is funded through display advertising, affiliate links, commercial partnerships, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships, and content licensing. No single source of revenue dictates our editorial direction. Our complete funding structure is documented on the Ownership and Funding page.
Sacharchiv Media Ltd., registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009, Malta Business Registry), owns and operates the publication. The company’s registered office is at Office 9, Business Centre, Valletta, 0000. All revenue streams are managed separately from editorial operations. We do not accept funding from political parties, governments, or advocacy groups that could compromise our independence.
What are affiliate links and how do we use them?
Affiliate links are special URLs that allow us to earn a small commission if you purchase a product or service after clicking. We use them in articles where they are relevant, and we always disclose their presence clearly. Affiliate income helps support our reporting without compromising editorial decisions.
When an article contains affiliate links, we include a disclosure notice near the link or at the end of the piece. The editorial team – including writers and editors such as Chefredaktör Matthias Ziegler and Redaktionschef Julia Weber – never considers potential affiliate revenue when deciding what to cover or how to report. Our Editorial Policy reinforces this separation.
What about display advertising?
Display advertising appears as banners or other ad formats on our site. These ads are provided by third-party networks and are clearly labelled as advertisements. We do not allow advertisers to influence our editorial content or the placement of ads within articles.
Advertisements are visually distinct from editorial material. We may also run direct advertising campaigns, but all are subject to the same rules: no advertiser may dictate or veto coverage, and all ads must comply with our standards. Readers who encounter ads that seem misleading or inappropriate can report them to advertising@sacharchiv.de.
How do we maintain editorial independence?
Sacharchiv’s editorial independence is protected by a strict separation between commercial and editorial operations. No advertiser, sponsor, or partner has any say in what we publish. Sponsored content is always clearly labelled and produced under the same fact-checking standards as our regular journalism.
The editorial team, led by Chefredaktör Matthias Ziegler, makes all decisions about story selection, sourcing, and presentation. Commercial partnerships, including those arranged through partnerships@sacharchiv.de, never determine editorial conclusions. Our Sponsored Content Policy details how such content is marked and reviewed. Additionally, our Fact-Checking Policy applies to every piece we publish, regardless of funding source.
What you can expect from us
You can expect full transparency about any commercial relationships. All sponsored content, affiliate links, and advertisements are labelled so you can distinguish them from independent reporting. We also publish a detailed Sponsored Content Policy that outlines our practices.
Every article at Sacharchiv is drafted by a named writer, reviewed by an editor, and fact-checked before publication. AI-assisted tools may support research or drafting but never replace human editorial judgement. We commit to correcting errors promptly, as set out in our Corrections Policy. If you believe an advertisement or affiliate disclosure is unclear, please tell us.
